Building Capacity & Innovation Ecosystem for Net-Zero Emissions | Megan Fisher

Australia at the moment supplies around 50 percent of the world’s lithium - and we’re doing that essentially as rocks. We’re not seeing any of that 98 percent of the value downstream. So, we have a huge opportunity to step into that, in this country, and do more lithium processing. Do it in a healthier, decarbonized way. Create the components for batteries. Create battery packs and assemble battery packs. Create the EVs. And, really importantly, put in place the capability for recycling all of those for the lithium and all the other critical minerals associated with it.
